July has proved to be a busy month for CEF with two projects reaching contract close, two Trusts appointing Preferred Bidders and the first project under Framework 3 being launched.
The Royal Cornwall Hospitals NHS Trust have agreed a £7M contract with Cofely Workplace Ltd to upgrade the energy infrastructure at The Royal Cornwall Hospital, Truro; West Cornwall Hospital, Penzance and St Michael’s Hospital, Hayle. Whilst NHS Tayside have agreed a £15.4M contract with Vital Energi to upgrade the energy infrastructure at Ninewells Hospital, Dundee; Perth Royal Infirmary, Perth and Stracathro Hospital, Brechin.
Preferred Bidder have been appointed by Salford Royal NHS Foundation Trust and Great Western Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust with Vital Energi and Imtech respectively being successful in those cases.
Finally, the scheme at Chase Farm Hospital, part of Royal Free London NHS Foundation Trust, is the first project brought to market under Framework 3 which involves the build of a new hospital.
